Big Five Marathon

Big Five Marathon

The Big Five Marathon takes place on the African savannah without fences separating runners from the wildlife.

This exhilarating race with the African wildlife as spectators has earned quite a reputation over the years. The lack of fences along the route creates an authentic experience of literally running with the wild. The spectacular private game reserve of Entabeni provides stunning surroundings for the event and participants are offered the fantastic opportunity of running through the habitat of the most famous African game: elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion and leopard.

Race entries are limited to ensure safety and armed rangers patrol the route to make sure runners are kept safe throughout the race. The course is far from flat with steep ascents and descents throughout.
